There once were four girls that had been best friends since fifth grade, jenny the preppy cheerleader, Morgan the punk skateboarder, Carley the super smart one, and Ashley aka Ash the sporty girl. Our story begins on February, 12 the Valentine’s Day dance less than a day away and Ash and Morgan without a date!
Ash just got to school and went to the gym as they always did before school starts, and so did Dylan. Now Dylan wasn’t a very popular guy but he was a football player and was on the Wrestling team! Ash sat down next to Morgan just as he walked past their section of the bleachers. Dylan said hi to his friend Michael then turned around and sat down next Morgan as he always did. But just as he was sitting down Ash said “I can’t believe we don’t have dates yet!” to Morgan.
And just when she finished her sentence Morgan turned to Dylan and said “Hey, Dyl, will you go to the-?”
“Ash you wanna go with me to the dance tomorrow?” Dylan asked before Morgan could finish her sentence.
Ash just blushed and nodded. But later in gym she said “OH MY GAWD, Carley! I, Ash, lil miss tomboy have a date! Ohmygawd!” and that was all she would talk about to the other three till lunch when Dylan came over and sat down next to her.
“hey” he said as if this were totally normal!
Jenny nudged Ash with her elbow and whispered “say hi you idiot!”
“h-hi Dylan” was all she could get out. You see Ash was always known as one of the boys. She played tackle football after school with her neighborhood boys, didn’t where much make-up, and had so many bruises, cuts, and scabs it wasn’t even funny! If someone was picking on Carley, Jenny, or Morgan she’d beat’um up!
Mean-while at the other end of the table Morgan was complaining to Carley about what a jerk Dylan is. But then Carley said, “Look, I know you’re mad but have you seen Ash this happy lately? I know I haven’t! And if I were you I’d find someone else! Like Luke!”
“What? I don’t like Luke! What are you talking about?”
“Dude everyone knows! Even Luke! So just go ask him before someone else does or better yet ask Ash to ask him! They have band together next period anyways!”
“What am I doing in band?” Ash asked as she walked past them with Jenny to get a snack.
“Asking Luke to go with Morgan to the dance.” Said Carley with a huge smile on her face, “SHIT! I’ve got a test next period and I’ve gotta get all my stuff still! Talk to ya’ll later!”
Ash and jenny walked away to fast for Morgan to disagree with Dylan right behind them. He was very determined to start a real conversation with Ash before the day was over.
In the lunch line Dylan asked Ash for her number and Ash asked Luke, who just happened to be right behind Dylan, to go with Morgan to the dance and he said yes!! But the second they told Morgan she said “But didn’t wanna go with Luke! “
“But, Carley said”
“I don’t care what Carley said Ash!” Morgan said angrily, “I DON’T LIKE LUKE!” Then she stormed off.
“Well this is gonna be a fun class huh?”
“Good luck Ash” said Jenny as they left the Cafeteria and went their separate ways.
Later that night Ash called Jenny for some boy advice. “hey ash what sup?”
“Well, I think Morgan likes Dylan, and I don’t wanna be one of those backstabbing friends you know?”
“You’re not being one just because you’re going out with Dylan! She never went out with him so he’s fair game.”
“Oh, okay. Hold on for a sec Dylan’s calling in!” Ash said as she switched over to Dylan “Hey”
“Hey Ash… umm.. I was just wondering if you were okay today.”
“I’m fine, I’ve been fine all day, Dyl. Why?”
“Well you just weren’t yourself today. You normally say more than 5 words to me”
“Oh, that, well…. I guess I was just…. Well I don’t know confused maybe.”
“Confused? About what?”
“I’m not really sure but…. I think it was because yea I like you a lot but-“
“I know Morgan likes me too. But, I like you not her. Yea, she’s a great friend and an awesome skateboarder but she’s just a friend and I’d never wanna be her boyfriend”
“Wait, what? Did you just say you wanna be my boyfriend?”
“Yea… Is that okay? I mean I like you sooo much! And..”
“That’s awesome Dyl!” Ash said before he could finish what he was saying. “CRAP!”
“What?”
“I forgot that Jenny’s on the other line, I’ll call you later promise, bye!”
“Bye, hon.” Dylan started to say but she had already switched over.
“Hey Jen!”
“Hey, listen I just got off with Carley and you need to call Dylan and have him meet us at the mall at 7! No time for questions just meet me in front of.. Umm… Aero! Byeas!”
Ash did just as Carley asked and she and Dylan were both in front of Aero at 7 but Carley wasn’t. Morgan and Luke were. They all stood there in silence for a few minuets then Dylan said, “Hey, It looks to me like we were set up here, and there’s something Carley wants us all to talk about!”
“like what Dylan? Like the fact that your girlfriend is a backstabbing bitch?” Morgan said loudly without thinking.
“No, like the fact that I like Ash not you, I chose her, not you. I knew both of you liked me. It was so obvious but it was my choice not yours but if this is gonna tare apart a 4 year old friendship you can just forget it! I’ll go by myself tomorrow! With no one! That’s right, neither of you!” Dylan said with a serious voice.
“Look, Morgan there’s a great guy standing right beside you” said Ash gesturing toward Luke, “You should go out with him! Besides you talk about him almost all the time! And if that doesn’t mean you like him a lot I don’t know what does! Plus, during band and gym the only thing Luke ever asks me about is you!”
Luke blushed a little and said “thanks Ash. Morgan listen I like you and I really wanna go out with you! So why don’t we start right now and go see a movie?”
“I think I’ll go with you to the dance tomorrow but…” Morgan smiled at him then looked at ash and said, “I need a dress for tomorrow and I think I’ll go shopping with my best friend Ash tonight!”
“I love that idea Morgan! Talk to you later Dyl!” Ash said and started to walk away but Dylan grabbed her hand pulled her toward him and kissed her on the cheek.
“bye baby” said Dylan with a huge smile on his face.
The next day at school Ash and Dyl were inseparable! Neither were Morgan and Luke. But they had a new problem; Carley got a C on her test the day before! And her mom said that if she doesn’t bring home a B on her report card she wouldn’t be going to the dance! But that wasn’t a big deal because Carley always has mostly As with the occasional B. So, they were free to with out problems till after homeroom.
Carley was crying with her head against her locker when jenny saw her and asked her what was wrong. “I GOT A C!!!!!!!!!! ME! I got a C! I can’t go to the dance..”
“No way! But that’s impossible you never get Cs! It’s like not you! SHIT! Umm, let me talk to your teacher… I’ve got her next anyways.” Said jenny as she crossed the hall to Mrs. Wilats room, “Mrs. Wilats, I just found out that my friend Carley got a C in your class and I was wondering why?”
“Well, I didn’t give her a C Jenny. There must be some mistake! Bring her in here now please?”
“Yes ma’am,” jenny said as she sprinted back across the hall, “She said that there must be a mistake and wants to see you ASAP!”
“Oh thank god!” Carley replied as they went back across the hall. “Yes Mrs. Wilats?”
“Ah there you are Carley! I’m so sorry about that mistake you actually got a B!” Mrs. Wilats said enthusiastically.
Later at lunch Carley was sooo excited she had to tell everyone! She interrupted conversations and made the lovebirds stop staring in each others eyes long enough to pay attention! So, now that they all could go and all of them had dates, everything was perfect! So, you just know something had to go wrong right? But, nothing went wrong! After school all the girls went to Jenny’s house to get ready! Only because Jenny was a terrific hair stylist!
Jenny’s dress was perfect for her great figure! It was a red halter covered with glitter, so HOTT! Morgan’s dress was more like her, a simple black spaghetti strap with a little sequence across the bust. Simple but oh so cute on her! But, Ashley’s was by far the very best of them all! It was a pink strapless that only went to her knees, and it had purple sequence from the waist down! She looked SEXY! Carley on the other hand didn’t have the perfect dress for her but it was okay. Her dress was a one thick strap dress that was lilac with pink rhinestones on the bust it came to her knees as well.
Once Kevin, Ben, Dylan, and Luke got there it was like a portrait studio! Jenny’s mom was taking pictures left and right! First of Jenny and her date Kevin, then of Ben and Carley, then of Dyl and Ash, and then of Morgan and Luke! She took pictures of just the girls, pictures of just the guys, pictures of them standing alone, and pictures of them as a group! It was picture crazy!! When they finally got into the cars and got to the dance it was 8 o’clock. They arrived just fashionably late!
Right when they got there a slow song started to play and they all danced with their dates! Dyl and Ash were definitely having the best time, because they didn’t even realize that half way through the song Jenny stormed out of the gym crying with Carley at her tail! Not to mention that Morgan was now cussing out Kevin for being such a jerk! When the song was finally over Ash and Dyl went out to the fountain and saw Jenny sitting there still crying with Carley and Morgan by her side and Luke punching Kevin across the jaw!
It turns out that Kevin had tried to get a little to close to Jenny! He was pinching her ass and trying his hardest to feel her bust without her knowing it! Then he went way out of line and asked her if she wanted to go find a room! She bitch slapped him right then and there! Ash felt really bad for not being there for her and walked over to her to apologize when her ex-boyfriend from camp, Peter came up to her saying “hey baby what’s up?”
All she did was stand there looking from him to Dyl! She had no idea what to say! Then Dyl asked her in a whisper “Who’s this, honey?”
“This is my friend Peter from camp hon. Say Peter what are you doing here anyways?”
“I thought I’d surprise you but I see you don’t need me here so maybe I’ll just go…”
Meanwhile Jenny was asking Carley who the HOTTIE Ash was talking to was but nobody knew, nobody knew but Ash! Then it came to her Ash should get Peter to dance with Jenny! It was such a brilliant idea!
“Peter, I’ve kinda got a boyfriend but my friend Jenny over there is guy-less now so would you mind-“
But it was too late Peter had already spotted Jenny! And was walking over to her to see if he would be of any assistance!
“Ash who was that? I’ve never heard you mention Peter before!” Dyl asked the second Peter was gone.
“Like I said he’s just some dude from camp! He only lives and hour away and I told him that the dance was tonight so I guess he thought he’d surprise me that’s all! I swear!”
“Whatever. Lets just go dance and have fun! We need it! Besides I love you to much to let some old camp friend break us up.”
Ash had no idea how to respond so she just staled. “I’m gonna go to the lady’s room be back in a few!” She walked over to Morgan and pulled her to the bathroom with her!
“OHMYGAWD! Dyl just said that he loves me! What do I do? What do I say?”
“Whoa really? Well if you love him tell him that! If you don’t then just wait till your ready!”
“That’s the thing! I do love him! I just don’t … never mind!”
“Ash! What? Is it that dude Peter that showed up? Wait a minute! Peter, that’s the guy that you kissed at camp! Oh my gawd, what’s he doing here? You have Dyl!”
“You think I don’t know that! I didn’t tell him to come! But, last night he texted me and said that he loves me and he’d see me soon! SHIT! I didn’t even think about the fact I told him when and where the dance was! Damn it! Morgan what am I suppose to do?”
“Choose between the two! Duh!”
“fine then.. I guess I’ll choose…….. Dyl.”
“Good choice! He’s hott!”
“Yea and he’s like totally mine!” said Ash as she walked out of the bathroom back towards the fountain where a big crowd had formed.
“Oh” said Morgan.
“my” said Carley as she and Jenny walked over too.
“GAWD!” finished Jenny.
Ash was pushing through the crowd and found Peter and Dylan fighting each other! All she could think of to say was “GUYS GET UP AND STOP FIGHTING! Now Peter I love Dyl! You’re a great friend but Dyl’s my boyfriend! And I don’t want you two to fight! I want you to be friends!” Then she walked away with tears in her eyes.
Dyl followed her and so did Morgan, Carley, and Jenny who were all totally shocked to see this happening right there at the dance in front of everyone!
“Ash, baby, stop! PLEASE! We really need to talk about this!”
“What’s there to talk about Dyl?!? Tell me! Because I have no freaking idea! You hate one of my best friends! And he hates you!”
“He wanted you to be his girlfriend! I did the first thing I could think of doing!”
“By like killing him! Oh my gawd! Guys can be such idiots!”
“Honey I was just trying to keep you as my girl! I don’t want to lose you! Its not that hard to understand!”
“You mean that you don’t want to lose me?”
“I really don’t ash! I love you! With all my heart! I really do!” then they looked into each other’s eyes and kissed for the first time since they’d started dating!
Carley, Morgan, and Jenny were finally catching up and when they saw Dyl and Ash they stopped and then turned around to go back to the main dance. The moment was way to perfect to end!
About 5 minutes later Dyl went and got him and Ash something to drink while Ash walked over to her friends who were all smiling! Luke was hand in hand with Morgan. Everybody’s night was going great again and even better it stayed that way for the rest of the night!
When they all got to the right houses they immediately signed on YIM (your instant messenger) to talk about everything that had happened that night!

CHEERFOEVA: Carz! I was actually talking to Ben at the dance and He wanted to kiss you but he didn’t think he was good enuff 4 ya!

One0daboyz:it was AMA-ZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He just seems to good to be true you know?
CHEERFOEVA: like the one u could lose it to and/or marry kinda too good?
One0daboyz: exactly! And when we kissed it was like nothing I’ve ever felt b4! It was great!
CHEERFOEVA: well don’t get ur hopes up! That sounds like Kevin! And look how that turned out!
dask8r: at this rate u could lose it to neone! You’ve said that about the last 10 guys from just this summer/fall! Its getting kinda sluttish if u ask me! But, w/e I’m tired bed!! C ya’ll 2mmorrrow! That is if the shopping’s still on?
One0daboyz: I sure hope it is! I need new bball shoes! And new cleets! And some clothes for dates wit Dyl!

The next day Jenny picked everyone up in her baby blue convertible bug! They were all in great moods that Saturday, shopping was most of their favorite past times. The only problem was that none of them ever agreed on clothing styles! Jenny loved colors like pink, purple, baby blue, and stuff like that. Morgan preferred boy styled shorts, t-shirts with weird sayings in any color other than pink or purple. Carley almost always wore polos with corduroys or khakis. Now Ash loved tight jeans! This was weird for her since she was always with boys! But when she wasn’t wearing jeans she wore cargo pants and/or shorts. In other words they were totally different, yet they were still the best of friends!
They hit Abercrombie & Fitch first; Jenny and Carley were the only ones who bought anything from there. Jenny bought 4 pairs of jeans, 2 mini skirts, and about 7 different shirts in a variety of colors. Carley bought 4 pairs of corduroys and 3 polos.
Next they went to Pac Sun. This is Ash and Morgan’s favorite store. “OH MY GOD! Morgan they’ve got the new Vanz!”
“Its about time Ash, I’ve had mine on hold for three months! There are new DC’s too!”
“SWEET!” Ash replied enthusiastically and then asked an employee to get her a few different pairs of shoes in her size and Morgan’s size as well. Until the consultant got back Ash and Morgan looked at the jeans, cargos, tees, jackets, and the hottest new purses! Ash ended up buying 4 pairs of jeans, 1 hoodie, 5 tees, a new Roxy purse, and 6 pairs of shoes ( 2 Vanz, 1 Roxy, 2 DC’s, and 1 Etnies). Morgan got her new Vanz, the new DC’s, a hoodie, 2 pairs of boy cargo shorts, and 6 tees.
They went to BUCKLE next, ALL OF THEM LOVE BUCKLE! It’s probably the only store they ever agree on! Jenny convinced Ash to buy a couple mini skirts, one jean, one khaki with big-ish pockets. She also got Morgan to buy a pink tank with purple polka dots and a purple mini to match it! Carley was a little more difficult to convince and buy something different, but Jenny is very convincing! Carley got a pair of straight jeans and a yellow baby-doll shirt with green and pink polka dots. Jenny got about 9 minis, 10 shirts, 3 pairs of jeans, and 2 purses. On top of what Jenny convinced them to get Ash got 5 tees, a purse, and 3 pairs of jeans. Morgan got about 8 pairs of cargo Capri in a variety of colors, 4 tees, 5 tanks, and a purse. Carley got 5 polos and a purse.
They went to Olive Garden for lunch. They got loads of food and totally over ate! Then they went to Jenny’s to try everything on. Everything fit perfectly! Then Jenny’s computer beeped and a window with Dyl and Luke’s faces popped up.
“Hey baby!” Dyl said smiling! “Oh hey girls.”
“Hey hon. what’s up?” Ash replied with a huge grin on her face.
“Can you and Morgan come with us to the movies at 5? We wanted to go see Crucified Zombies!”
“I dunno… what do you think Morgan?”
“Hmmm … totally! Let’s go!” Morgan responded.
“We’ll pick ya’ll up around 4:50 we’ll go eat then we’ll go to the 6:00 showing!” Luke said.
“Kay see ya’ll soon!” Ash and Morgan said in unison, “We’ll be here all afternoon so just get us from Jenny’s!” The video of the boys disappeared off the screen and Ash screamed, “What am I gonna where Jenny?”
“Duh, the khaki mini! With… hmm… the green tank that says ‘what-eva where-eva when-eva!’ I know I’m so brilliant can’t believe I even thought of it!” Jenny said over enthusiastically. “Ooo and Morgan you should wear the green cargo capris with that yellow tank that says ‘girls can do WHATEVER boys CAN’T do!’ brilliant!”
“Awesome! I will! Jenny you’re so great when it comes to fashion advice!” Morgan responded.
Morgan and Ash went in Jenny’s bathroom to get ready. When they came out 30 minutes later Jenny almost screamed because they looked soo great! The boys arrived 20 min later to pick them up. They took Morgan and Ash to Abuelo’s Mexican Embassy to eat before the movie. Luke was wearing a blue and green striped button-up and jeans. Dyl was wearing a blue polo with a brown tee underneath and cargo pants.
They all looked great together. The second they finished eating they got in Luke’s red mustang convertible and drove to the theatre. Throughout most of the movie the girls were huddled in their date’s arms screaming every few minutes. The movie was freaky but none of them saw how ended because they were to busy making out through the second half of the movie. Ash and Morgan didn’t want to go home so they all went to the city fair.
Once they got there the couples split up. Ash and Dyl went to the Farris Wheel hoping to get stuck at the top. Luke and Morgan did the total opposite and went to the first roller coaster they could find. Ash and Dyl did get stuck at the top! They kissed then the ride jerked forward and they realized they were almost at the end of the ride. Eventually they found Morgan and Luke sharing a milkshake and decided to join them with an ice cream sundae of their own to share. It was almost 10:00 when they finally left the fair grounds and the girls had to be at Ash’s house by 10:30. So, The boys drove them straight there kissed them good night and said they’d call them in the morning.
When they got up to Ash’s room they called over to Jenny’s where Carley was staying the night. Ash had a neighborhood football game the next morning and Morgan had a skateboard competition too. They just happened to be right near each other. Jenny had a Basketball game to cheer for at the school and Carley had a Forensics competition at the school as well. The school was on the opposite side of town than the field and skate park or they would all be at Jenny’s house. They told Jenny all about their night and Jenny and Carley filled them in on some gossip that they’d heard from Shannon, the cheerleading captain.
“Oh my gawd and I almost forgot! Shannon heard from Melissa, who heard from her brother, who heard from jack, who heard from Jessica, who heard from Kaylee, who heard from Katlyn that Vanessa stuffs her bra!!!” Jenny added before they all hung up.
“Hahaha I knew it! There’s no possible way a 9th grader had D cups! Especially one that skinny! I mean what is she a double zero or what?” Ash responded with amusement in her voice.
“I heard Katlyn and Jack talking and, Katlyn said that Vanessa’s anorexic!!” Carley said enthusiastically. “Not that anyone thought otherwise! I mean its like way too obvious!”
“Hahaha yea I know right! Like, Coach Jacobs asked her if he could put her in the school support group for anorexics! She was all like ‘HELL NO! I ain’t no rexic you fool!’ It was hil-arious” Jenny said trying her hardest not to laugh at her own words!
“Hahaha yea, well I’m out! Big game’s tomorrow you know! Cant wait go Hamworth!” Ash said sarcastically.
“Byas!” Morgan and Carley said in unison to Ash and Morgan.
The next day Ash couldn’t concentrate on her game because Dyl was there! It was sooo much more pressure than she was use to! She loves him and she really wanted to impress him with her football skills even though he was on the opposing team which didn’t make it that much better! He was a great football player but everyone knew that she was better, and she didn’t wanna embarrass him by beating him or herself by loosing! It was a really hard decision until he pulled her aside during halftime looked her in the eyes, kissed her and said, “I know you can play better than that babe! Stop letting my team win just because of me! I mean it!” she smiled the biggest smile to ever appear on her face and then as he walked away he added “love ya babe! Victory ice cream after the game, hahaha on the loser!” She laughed then her team looked at her and she said “What can’t a girl kiss the opponent?” then the entire team busted with laughter!
As the game continued it went back and forth between winners. But in the end Ash won! And Dyl’s team had to buy everyone ice cream! While they were at the ice cream parlor Morgan ran in and pulled Ash to the girl’s bathroom. Morgan was FREAKING OUT!
“OHMYGAWD! Luke was competing against me! And he…he…he beat me!! How could he beat me! He sucks at boarding! I mean I love the guy and all but he sucks! Yea I was a little off but only because he was there! I…I couldn’t concentrate! What the Hell am I suppose to do Ash!?!?”
“Well I don’t know…. I had a similar problem until half-time, when Dyl pulled me to him and said ‘I know you can play better than that babe! Stop letting my team win just because of me! I mean it!’ then he kissed me and said ‘Victory ice cream after the game! Hahaha on the loser!’ then I could concentrate! I know its kind of weird but, if you talk to him and he actually tells you not to get distracted by him you’ll listen and it won’t seem quite so weird.”
“Cool, well maybe we’ll have a rematch… hahaha. Well, get back to your ice cream I’ll be out in a few minutes….”
“Are you sure?’
“Yea I’ll be fine”
“Otay-ay...”
Ash left the bathroom and found Luke jumping up and down on a table and the football teams cheering for him! She did the first thing she could think of and jumped up on the table! Then she started yelling stuff like “whats your effin problem!” and “You know she’s way better than you!” and “Ohmygawd were you using her to win!”
He let her yell then when she stopped he said “Ash. I love Morgan! You know that! I would NEVER use her to win a skateboarding competition! She was definitely off but, what was I suppose to do about it?”
“TALK TO HER! Duh! SHE WAS JUST SO FREAKED OUT! You know she totally deserved to win! And you know she was just worried about scaring you off by beating you! That’s exactly how I felt before the game against Dyl’s team! Then he pulled me aside during half-time and said ‘…you can play better than that…stop letting my team win because of me!’”
“Wow well I’ll give her a do-over. She deserves it!”
“That’s all I want you to do! Thanks.”
“hey, babe why don’t you get off that table and get in my arms!” Dyl yelled and Ash jumped right on top of him! They fell onto the next table and made-out! All the guys were shouting at Dyl except for Luke… He was walking to the girls bathroom and banging on the door.
He started yelling for Ash and Dyl. They came running and Ash just ran into the bathroom! She found Morgan on the ground with blood all around her! Dyl saw a glimpse of it and dialed 911 immediately!
Ash was crying and yelling, “ Morgan, get up! Come on girl you have to get up!! Please!! The ambulance is on the way you’ll be fine! You HAVE to be fine!!”
Dyl came in and put his arms around Ash, while Luke cried his eyes out and said he would never skateboard again! When the Ambulance got there Ash, Dyl, and Luke followed it in the Mustang. Dyl called Carley and Jenny and they came as fast as the could!
The doctors were successful but, just barely! They said that Morgan lost a lot of blood and would have to stay in the hospital for a week and after that she’d have to take it easy for a month. Which means no skateboarding, and no fairs, and not to much shopping! Morgan’s mom was in the room with her right now but it was Ash and Luke and Dyl’s turn next! Then Carley and Jenny! They were all so worried! And Luke was just whispering to himself that it was all his fault!
When Ash went in she whispered to the still unconscious Morgan I’m sorry I ever left you in the bathroom, if I didn’t you and Luke would be having a rematch right now!”
Luke was on the other side crying and saying “why did I ever enter that competition!?! If I had just talked to you before the competition or even during it about not being worried about us during it! You would be fine!”
Dyl was standing at the end of the bed with tears in his eyes just waiting for Ash to finish…He knew she would need him for a hug and kiss, and for comfort! She would need him to keep her from doing the same thing!
When Ash and Luke couldn’t stand it any longer they left the room still crying but with Dyl there to keep them out of the hospital! They were both lucky to have such a great guy to keep them there, as a boyfriend or a best friend he was the best! Dyl was always there for you! If you needed a hug, or just somebody to talk to!! He was always there for everyone friend or foe!! Dyl had Ash in his Arms and his best friend crying on his shoulder! They were all very thankful that she made it through cutting her wrist 7 times and almost bled to death!
Meanwhile Jenny and Carley were both crying on Morgan’s bedside! Both saying the same exact thing! “IF ONLY I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO STOP YOU!”
Ben showed up and ran into Morgan’s room. He grabbed Carley and gave her a hug she didn’t let go! She just cried her eyes out on her shoulder! Jenny sat there watching thinking that she would never have a relationship like that! She was thinking that she was a slut! That it would never happen to her like that! Then… Peter ran in and kneeled down next to Jenny. She laid her head on his shoulder! And cried! Jenny had been Morgan’s friend since second grade! She knew Morgan before anyone else!
Everyday after school they went to see Morgan in the hospital. Everyone was sooo happy when Morgan finally came home! Of course that was after a week so, she missed A LOT! Dyl and Ash almost had sex, Luke quit boarding, Jenny lost her cheerleading competition, and Carley got a REAL boyfriend. His name is Evan, he’d just moved there from California! Evan is tan and hott and has an eight-pack! He break-skates, he’s blonde, and he surfs! Evan sounds like someone Carley would never even consider as a boyfriend, but their inseparable! So, now Morgan is soo behind and still sick. She can’t go shopping this weekend so; they have a slumber party planned! The guys get to come over till 1 a.m.! Ash is the one hosting it! Dyl, Luke, Evan, and Peter will all be there! Morgan will love it! Well, at least everyone thought she would!
Morgan’s mom drove her to Ash’s house and everyone was waiting outside! Luke ran over and opened the car door for her and carried her overnight bag! But, she didn’t even smile at him! They brought Morgan inside, and gave her a brand new pair of Vans to replace the blood covered ones! She turned the down and said “I’m done with this tomboy shit! I wanna be a girl! A REAL girl!”
“Morgan! You love being a tomboy! You love skateboarding! You HATE most girly girls!” Ash almost yelled!
“Ash, I don’t want to be a girly girl! I just want to be a regular girl! I don’t want to skateboard anymore! That’s what made this happen in the first place!”
“Morgan, just because you’re not a tomboy anymore doesn’t mean you can’t wear your old shoes! I wear Vans and DC’s and all those other skateboard brands!” Jenny added in.
“she’s right Morgan. You’re smarter than that. You can’t just change who you are over night! It takes time! So why don’t you just drop boarding for your starter and keep moving from there!” Carley said in that smart ass way she always does!
“I’m gonna do this my way guys! And can you please get HIM out of here! Please?” Morgan replied with hatred in her voice.
“Who Luke? But…” Ash stopped”…But he’s your boy-“
“boyfriend? You mean he WAS my boyfriend! He let me cut myself while he had a victory party for winning when he didn’t deserve to win! He knows he didn’t deserve it! Don’t you Luke?” Morgan said harshly!
“Yea, but, I didn’t even know you were in the bathroom till Ash told me! I didn’t know! I love you! I really truly love you! And I hope you love me too! I’m positive you do and when you figure out that you do I’ll be at the skate park with TWO skateboards!” Luke said and walked out the door.
“Dyl, come help me in the kitchen please!” Ash said with tears in her eyes. They went in the kitchen and Ash just started crying her eyes out! “I was positive that she would love the shoes! She’s my best friend and I don’t like the way things are going with her! DYL WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?!?!?!”
“Babe, breathe. What Morgan needs the most right now are her friends! She’ll come around when its time! You know she will! I know she will! I love you and I trust your instincts!”
“thanks honey but, what if she doesn’t change her mind? What if she doesn’t go back to skateboarding!?!?”
“You saw how long Luke went without boarding? Well Morgan loves it even more! So, she’ll probably go back sooner. Hopefully tonight, Luke is my best friend and I know what he’s thinking. If Morgan doesn’t show up he’ll die! I know it!” Nobody said anything for a few seconds then Peter ran in yelling!
“She’s gone! We have no idea where she’s going but she isn’t here!”
“Shit! Dyl see what I mean! She’s not good under pressure! I bet she was standing outside that door listening to our whole conversation. She probably didn’t want to see either one of us cry and went to get Luke! But, who knows she might’ve gone home! I think she would have gone to the skate park though and I know her best!”
“Okay baby, lets go Morgan hunting!”
